Dr. Carl P. Prota was born and raised in Branford, Connecticut. He completed his high school education at Branford High School in 1979, graduating with honors. He then attended Providence College, where he graduated with the highest honors, Summa Cum Laude, in 1983. During his time at Providence College, he was elected to the National Pre-Medical Honor Society.

In 1986, Dr. Prota finished first in his class at Fairleigh Dickinson University, College of Dental Medicine. He received multiple awards and was elected to the National Dental Honor Society. He is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Connecticut State Dental Association.

Dr. Prota resides in East Haven with his wife, Maria, and their two children, Matthew and Katherine. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and pursuing his passion for woodworking.
